saturday night
on Saturday night, Benoit and i watched Vanity Fair. i'm not ashamed to admit that the reason i love movies like these are the costumes. but it was a bit too long for me, i had this terrible headache by the end of the movie. i've noticed lately that my physical response ot sickness has gotten worse. I never used ot have enstrual cramps before and now, i het headaches and this terrible twisting grinding feeling in my gut. When i used ot have migraines in college, it was bad enough that my entire left side would ache, but lately, when i have migraines i feel nauseous. I hate old age. :P
after the movie, B and i went to Safeways to buy some groceries. i was feeling terrible by then and all i wanted to do was get out, go home and swallow a couple of Ibuprofen capsules while sipping my Heinz tomato and basil soup. while we were at teh check out counter there was a man ahead of us. He'd been drinking and i know this because i could smell chicos 3 meters away. But he wasn't a scary drunk. Just a sad one. He turned ot us and kept talking, as if to prove that he wasn;t drunk. "i had a bit of a drnk but i'm alright... Safeways is a great place. It's a good establishment you know. You;re always alright here!... And happy new year to you, and your wife..." And he turned to me and held out his hand. "I've been having a bit of a drink but..." and i gave him my hand becasue i thought he wanted to shake it but he turned it over in his palm and kissed instead. He was alright really. But i always worry for people like that. I wonder if they go home alone or if they go home at all. The Safeways cahier said he comes in every night in that state. Hope he got home ok.
