sniffles
i got really sick towards the end of essay-writing. last thursday or friday morning i woke up with a sore throat and a headache and the beginnings of a bad cold. there's nothing worse than having to work while you're sick but i got through that mess. now i've got two weeks of freedom and it's a shame that i have to spend it recoving from this stupid cold.
the thing i hate most about sniffles-- apart from embarrassing sneezy fits and a runny nose--is that i can't taste my food. i don't know if the Greek yoghurt i put in my pasta made a difference. I don't know if my tomato and basil soup was good or not. I could hardly taste the fruit in my yoghurt or the cookie dough in my Ben and Jerry's ice cream. i hate being sick. i've been dosing up on salabat and honey *my flatmates were wondering what strange oriental remedy i've been cooking up* and loading up on fruit. i've been testing how well my sense of smell is coming along by eating slices of Terry's Chocolate Orange. If i can taste the orange, i'm ok.
my sneezing has stopped and my nose is significantly less runny but i still can't taste a damn thing. feck.
